Diana Tunis is an Arizona certified K-8 teacher with a Highly Qualified endorsement in Art, lifetime of artistic experience and a multifaceted artist. She has instructed classes at Gila County Community College, High Desert Middle School, and as the Visual Arts Director for the Summer Youth Musical Theater Program since its inception over 15 years ago. Leslie Kim is a Shakespeare enthusiast and lover of ancient languages. Armed with two masters degrees, she taught liberal arts and theology to children and adults in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Globe she helped found The Schoolhouse Cooperative, which focuses on creativity and curiosity in learning, and has taught at Inspired Learning Academy. Paul Tunis is a comics artist and illustrator. As an illustrator he has worked in advertising, marketing, publicity, publishing and has illustrated three children’s books. Paul also has an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence. Additionally, his comics work has been featured by McSweeney’s Press, New York University’s Graduate Writing Program, The Poetry Foundation and others. Jessica Doong is a local teacher who loves encouraging creative expression in young people. Since moving to Globe in 2011, she has taught English, creative writing, and hands-on projects at Inspired Learning Academy, the Schoolhouse Cooperative, and Gila Community College in San Carlos. Katie Gardea is a recent graduate from Northern Arizona University, where she earned a degree in theatre performance. As a staff member with the Summer Youth Musical Theatre Program, she has gained experience and a true passion for working with youth. Christine Shin is an educator both in Globe and San Carlos. With her Bachelor’s in Communications and Math from Northwestern University, Chris has taught middle school math at Inspired Learning Academy and continues to provide math instruction for adults in San Carlos. Since the age of 4, Chris attended the Institute of Music in Flint, MI and was involved in orchestra and choir. Her all-time favorite experience was playing at Carnegie Hall in NYC!
